• ​Many of you know me for my works for concert band.  However, I do have a small but growing list of pieces for solo, small ensemble, as well as beginning jazz ensemble.  As many of us dive further into jazz band and solo/small ensemble season, check out my compositions in these areas.  You might find something new, different and exciting to add to your library!

• It was quite the project to undertake but it's been great seeing the excitement and interest in my Create A Quartet series.  This school year has presented us with so many unique challenges that having flexible literature for small ensembles and for young musicians is critical.  Seeing that problem inspired me to create two volumes of easy quartets with flexible and interchangeable instrumentation.  If you've already used my new books, I'd enjoy hearing about how they worked for you.

• I'm excited to see the first copies go out of my first ever jazz chart, Smoked Barbeque!  It's a beginner level rock-blues chart that young jazz students can easily solo on using the F blues scale.  Plus, during these cold months of the year, who doesn't like the idea of having some smoked barbeque!
